We got our keys today!!

The excitement of getting our keys to our place was putting me on adrenaline high! I couldn't sleep well at all last night and this has caused me to be so tired today! But nevertheless, the excitement kept me going for the entire day... From waking up, to traveling to HDB Hub and to collection of our keys!! And finally to our new place we go!

It's a lot of paying and paying today... Paid the first conservancy charges, fire insurance, Home Protection Scheme premium, utilities deposit, our city gas heater and clothes dryer, seasoned parking lot etc... I think I have never paid so much stuff in one day... Except for our wedding of cos!

So with our little time we went to our new place! Said the first prayer together as husband and wife in the new place that we are going to live in and hubby was fantastic! Trust that He will be a great leader and head of the house. We prayed for the place to be a home of love and embrace of people, a home that blesses those who enter. How wonderful it will be for us to be a blessing to others through the place that we live in!

Anyway, cut the long story short, I will now introduce the theme that we want for our place. As this blog has introduced, it will be called "A Scandilicious Home"! Where it's Scandinavian and also having hues of colors to brighten up the place! The colors will perk is up here and there throughout the day... :)

Here are some pictures that I've found online to serve as inspiration for our home.

More to come!

A blessed home it will be!

This has been the longest wait in my life!

Since before we got married, we have been trying to look for a place that can be our home... a place where we can start our small family unit. But 2009 and 2010 seemed to be the worst time ever to buy a resale flat in Singapore as prices of flats were going up and up and up. It was a horrendous time.

Thus, the government promised to ramp up the number of Build-to-Order flats in Singapore and that first-timers will eventually get the priority ahead of the second-timers and so forth.

We applied for a few rounds, starting with a Sale-of-Balance flat in 2009, then followed Woodlands Treegrove, Punggol Waterfront, another Sale-of-Balance, a Sembawang project which I can't even remember the name and finally Woodlands Dew!

Woodlands Dew came at the right time (not too late!) and the location was more than ideal. Some people said that the project is too near the industrial area and not too near MRT station, but to me, it is definitely nearer than compared to my current in-laws place. My in-laws' place is now very near Woodlands Ave 12 but in the future, they will be grateful to the Thomson Line, Woodlands South MRT Station and also the Woodlands General Hospital that is up and coming.

But for us, our location is also not too bad. We are going to be next to the North-South Expressway next time, and 2-3 stops away from Woodlands North MRT station, which will be eventually linking us up to  JB!

So here is an illustrated picture of Woodlands Dew!

Very nice light blue, grey and white colors right?

This is the layout of the different blocks... the only downside is that we are located next to a Primary School. But I guess this will be good in the future when we have kids ya?

As for the layout, it was quite a standard layout plan for the BTO launches that year but I have no complaints.

And we will call this a place of our very own soon!!

As I am writing this, we are waiting for another 3 more days and we will be collecting our keys! We are very excited and filled with anticipation for this day!

Looking forward to doing up our home soon!
